Screaming to be Heard

I hear you buddy, I hear you.

He bellowed until his lungs caught fire.

He screamed to be heard.

He demanded to be acknowledged.

 

It was his right.

It was their obligation.

It was the way the world worked.

 

But it didn’t matter.

It was everyone’s right.

It was everyone’s obligation.

 

If he wouldn’t listen, why would anyone else?
